Electrically Conductive

ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE PLASTICS

Plastics are inherently insulative material which electron will not able to more freely and electrostatic charging occurs as consequence. Accumulation of electrostatic charges will eventually yield electrostatic discharge. ESD can damage electronic equipment or even cause an ignition.

In order to prevent these problems and provide to use plastics in different applications could be modified to be electrically conductive material.

Eurotec produces permanent conductive compounds using a wide range of polymers, additives and reinforcements to develop grades with a wide range of properties such as:

  • Colourable
  • Transparency
  • FDA compliant
  • Metal detectable
  • Non sloughing
  • Flame retardant, and many more

Anti-Static compounds(1012to 109ohm); Slow static decay times so that ESD is still a danger. Mainly useful for preventing dust accumulation.

Static Dissipative compounds(109to 106ohm); Slow to moderate static decay times. Prevents electrostatic discharge on human contact.

Conductive compounds(106to 100ohm); Fast static decay times in milliseconds. Can provide grounding path.

EMI/RF Shielding compounds(103to 100ohm); In addition to being highly conductive, these compounds can absorb and reflect electromagnetic radiation.
