Green Composites

Due to the legislative regulations introduced to produce solutions to growing environmental issues, the use of green composite materials has become widespread in many areas, such as automotive parts, packaging industry, food industry and daily life thanks to their natural and environmentally compatible compositions, minimum energy consumption and capability of being manufactured with high efficiency. These composites offer many advantages, such as reduced waste consumption, efficient use of resources, less carbon footprint, and utilization of renewable resources, since they are biodegradable and can turn into waste or compost (fertilizer) at the end of their life with no harm to the environment.

After the intensive research and pilot production trials conducted by the R&D team on 100% or partly biodegradable products, eurotecsuccessfully completed product development efforts and created its green product portfolio to offer innovative solutions regarding green products.

eurotec's 100% biodegradable polymer product line consists of PLA, PBS and natural additives reinforced with blends of these polymers. Materials are given various mechanical, thermal and visual properties, using a range of bioadditives, such as wood flour, walnut shell powder, beech powder, apricot kernel powder, nutshell powder and corn cob powder, as natural additives.

Nutshell

For partly biodegradable products, PP polymers and natural additives, such as wood flour, walnut shell powder, beech powder, apricot kernel powder, nutshell powder and corn cob powder, are co-processed at varying rates, to develop a product line with partly biobased content.
